iPhone 15 Will Reportedly Use Sony's Latest Sensor For Better Cameras

The iPhone camera has two significant drawbacks compared to the camera on Android flagship devices. First of all is that there is still no periscope zoom system that offers high zoom capabilities and a still small sensor while the use of a 1″ sensor has become normal on Android.

According to a Nikkei Asia report, Apple wants to change all this through the iPhone 15 later. Like some rumors we have reported before, the iPhone 15 with a periscope zoom system is expected to be produced. Only the Pro model will be equipped with this periscope zoom later with the regular model remaining with only wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses.

In order to improve the capabilities of the camera, Apple will use Sony's latest sensor which is claimed to increase the saturation signal for each pixel twice as much. This will increase the amount of light that can be captured at the same time reducing the issue of overexposure. An individual's face can still be captured clearly even with their back to a bright light source behind them.

It is not known if this sensor is a 1″ sensor or just a normal sensor with a larger megapixel size. Lately, Sony has focused on producing 1″ sensors with Samsung offering sensors with a size of up to 200MP.
