Argentina Qualifies for the Quarterfinals, Netizens: Messi Most GOAT

 


The Argentina national team has advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup after beating Australia 2-1. Lionel Messi, who scored a goal in this match, was immediately hailed as a GOAT player, aka the greatest of all time.

The match in the round of 16 between Argentina and Australia was held at the Ahmaed bin Ali Stadium on Sunday (4/12/2022) in the morning WIB. Team Tango comes as the winner of Group C while Australia is the runner-up of Group D.


  Argentina took the lead through Lionel Messi's goal in the 35th minute. He curled a low shot at the far post after picking up Nicolas Odamendi's loose ball while controlling a cross from Alexis Mac Allister.



Argentina strengthened its lead to 2-0 through Julian Alvarez's goal in the 57th minute. Australia then reduced the lag through Craig Goodwin's shot which hit the Argentine player in the 77th minute.


Argentine fans immediately praised Messi's appearance in this match. This match is also somewhat special for Messi, who is the 1,000th appearance in his career. That number includes matches with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.



Netizens on Twitter also call Messi the best player of all time, aka GOAT. Not even a few netizens compare Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo.
