The United States, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan have banned the use of Huawei telecommunications equipment for security reasons. Germany, however, has not followed in the footsteps of its allies by refusing to ban Huawei equipment on the country's vital communications systems.
According to a report from Germany, 59% of the 5G RAN equipment in the country is manufactured by Huawei. In Berlin it increased to 100%. Last week Huawei started downsizing their operations in Europe with the main headquarters being moved to Hannover Germany from Belgium this year. Huawei still has a good relationship in Germany compared to other Western countries.
