The Smart Label Equipped with 5G Facilitates Parcel Tracking

Since the launch of tracking devices like AirTag, there have been various experiments conducted to see their effectiveness. Incidents of parcel companies lying about the location of delivered goods have been recorded several times along with the issue of lost baggage by airlines. The issue with AirTag is that it is still too expensive and bulky.

At CES, The Smart Label was launched by Pod Group from Germany. It is a thin package label with the ability to be tracked in real time because it supports 5G networks. The Smart Label uses a thin 5G battery and chip to allow it to look like a regular package label. The label can be used multiple times because the battery can last up to 6 months.

With The Smart Label, customers can not only track the location of the package but also detect that it is exposed to extreme heat because it is also equipped with a temperature sensor. For companies that use The Smart Label, they can detect if packages are removed from the right area to prevent theft.
