Android 14 Code Name Is “UpsideDownCake”

The last time Google officially used the name dessert on Android was Android 9.0 which is Android Pie. After Android 10 was introduced, Google changed its strategy to only use numbers as versions because it wanted fairness for all Android users. Many users in many countries do not recognize a dessert, so until today Android 13 number is the official name.

But during Android 10, i.e. Android Q – Quince Tart is used as reference code. Android 11/R is Red Velvet Cake, Android 12/S is Snow Cone, Android 13/T is Tiramisu and now Android 14 or Android U is UpsideDownCake.

Android 14 UpsideDownCake launched today for Google Pixel device users and offers a number of exciting features that focus on customization as well as privacy and security. The development and beta versions will be tested until next July and the stable version will be launched only after that.
