Apple Sues Prominent Leaker

Jon Prosser is one of Apple's most prolific leakers. Earlier this year, he shared a concept for a new interface that was believed to be used in iOS 19, later dubbed iOS 26. Today, he was sued by Apple for leaking the information.

The three leaked Apple secrets were the redesigned Liquid Glass interface, the camera app, and the messaging app. In addition to Prosser, another individual, Michael Ramacciotti, was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit filed by Apple. Apple claims that Prosser and Ramacciotti accessed an Apple employee's device to steal secrets about a new operating system that was being developed. Based on the information that was successfully stolen, Prosser created a mock image before leaking it.

The lawsuit was filed to ensure that more company secrets were not leaked to the web and is seeking damages. In a tweet sent on X, Prosser said that he did not access Apple employee devices without permission and would contact Apple.

Apple is increasingly aggressive in suing and taking action against employees who leak information to journalists. Leaked information can cause new features that are intended to be introduced to be later copied by competitors.
