The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G was launched yesterday as an entry-level device that receives the best Android update support on the market. Samsung promises support for 6 Android versions and security patches for 6 years. This is only a year less than what the flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series devices receive.
The device is equipped with a 6.7″ AMOLED 90Hz screen, paired with an Exynos 1330 (5nm) chip, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage and a 5000 mAh battery with 25W charging. The main camera consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens with OIS, 6MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro while on the front is a 13MP selfie camera.
The body passes the IP54 waterproof and dustproof standards and still supports microSD cards for additional storage. It, however, still uses One UI 7 based on Android 15. In Europe, the device is being sold at a starting price of 230 Euros (~RM 1127) each.
