USM Introduces CaknaStrok Application as a Digital Initiative to Help Stroke Patients’ Caregivers

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has introduced the CaknaStrok application to help stroke patients and caregivers throughout Malaysia. This application was developed by the USM School of Medical Sciences (PPSP) in collaboration with local and international researchers including from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as well as several health institutions in Malaysia.

Through this application, users can access various daily guides that cover aspects of nutrition, body posture, speech therapy, personal hygiene, physiotherapy, medication management, emotional support and purchasing health equipment. The guides in this application are also provided in the form of videos to make it easier for caregivers to understand the methods of caring for stroke patients at home more clearly.

In addition, this application offers a special conversation channel between patients and health workers to ensure that the recovery process goes smoothly. The CaknaStrok application can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
