After two months of the Proton e.MAS being announced and having been on the road through their roadshows, today Pro-NET has announced the official prices for both the Proton e.MAS 5 Prime and Premium models. It will be offered starting at RM 59,800 for the Prime, and RM 72,800ik for the Premium.
Differentiating these two entry-level electric cars from Proton is the battery capacity and also some of the equipment and features it has. The Prime version, which is the base class, has a 30 kWh battery that provides a travel range of 225 KM WLTP while the Premium version has a 40 kWh battery that provides a travel range of 325 KM WLTP. This larger battery capacity allows the premium version to accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Premium version is also equipped with an automatic boot, level 2 self-driving function, and a 360-degree camera.
Despite the different batteries, the charging speed remains the same between the two, with DC fast charging as high as 71 kW for the Premium version, allowing for 30-80% charging in 21 minutes, and AC charging of 6.6 kW allowing for a full charge in 5-7 hours depending on the version chosen.
The Proton e.MAS 5 is priced at RM 59,800 for the Prime version, while RM 72,800 for the Premium version. It comes with a 6-year warranty with no mileage limit, and a battery and component warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km mileage, whichever comes first. For purchases until the end of the year, a RM 3,000 rebate is also offered, making the promotional price for the Prime version RM 56,800 while RM 69,800 for the Premium version.
Also offered is a Power Pack package worth RM 8,000 to make owning this electric car easier. Among them are
RM 2,000 for disposal of old vehicles worth RM 2,000
5-year financing with an interest rate of 1.98% through Proton Commerce worth RM 1,700
