Early this morning, Meta officially announced the acquisition of an artificial intelligence-based service focused on AI agents, namely Manus. Recently, it was shared by WSJ, Meta paid over $2 billion to acquire Manus.
In parallel with this acquisition, Meta said that the Manus team will be integrated into the Meta team including in the development and integration of Meta AI. At the same time, Meta said that it will continue to operate and sell Manus services as usual.
Manus is ready to be used by millions of users in various tasks, including document management, graphic production, and various other things. Manus was previously popular with their AI agent offerings when it was introduced, and this acquisition should benefit Meta with their focus on artificial intelligence.
At the same time, Meta also said that Manus will cease operations in China following this acquisition.
