OpenAI today announced that it has received a new $110 billion investment injection, valuing the company at $730 billion. In parallel, OpenAI also shared some interesting statistics regarding its service.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT now has over 900 million weekly active users, and over 50 million paid subscribers. In addition to individual customers, ChatGPT also has over 9 million customers who subscribe to enterprise accounts.
According to OpenAI, they saw a sharp increase in subscribers at the beginning of the year, making January and February record the highest subscriber numbers in history.
In addition, Codex usage also tripled, and now has 1.6 million users. Many are starting to use it to produce and automate software development. However, OpenAI did not share any data regarding the users of its web browser, Atlas.
So far, the closest to catching up with ChatGPT in terms of user numbers is Google Gemini, which was previously said to have 750 million monthly active users.
