Usage Experience
The experience of holding the device is not only in the grip but also feels like "holding it back". I also often turn the device in my hand not to check notifications but to feel a different grip. The thin and light body provides a usage experience that is almost the same as several models from vivo and realme. Putting it in a pocket either in the front or back also does not cause discomfort.
The curved design on the front and back raises questions because most manufacturers now choose a boxy design with squared sides. This approach clearly shows the difference that Infinix brings through their latest models. However, such cosmetics are subjective because some users like it while others do not.
For me, the more important thing is the practical aspect. The device is easy to use, not too big and easy to carry. All of these factors make the user experience more enjoyable and add interesting value to the design offered.
The screen performance on the Infinix Note Edge can be said to be good because the display is clear whether used indoors or outdoors. Most other devices in its class are difficult to use under bright sunlight so that users have to cover the screen with their hands to read messages.
In contrast to this device, the content is still easy to read even under challenging sunlight. However, such a screen has limitations in terms of protection due to the curved design which makes it difficult to find a suitable screen protector. It also requires more careful care especially on the edges for long-term durability.
The button and port layout still maintains the standard elements like several other Infinix devices. However, there is an additional quick access button that can be customized according to user needs. By default, a long press on this button will open the camera application. The function can also be changed to other options through the settings. In other words, this button works the same as additional buttons offered by other manufacturers, making it more flexible for daily use.
Infinix Note Edge uses stereo speakers tuned by JBL, supports Hi-Res Audio, and is equipped with two microphones. In terms of experience, the sound is loud and suitable for multimedia use. Although the position of the top and bottom speakers is not completely balanced, the results are still better than most other devices.
For example, when listening to the song Good Goodbye sung by Hwasa, the lyrics are clearly heard one by one and the musical instruments are also pleasant to the ears. It does not sound too awkward and can be said to be quite satisfactory for watching videos, music and music even though it has not reached a completely perfect balance. In addition, this device is also equipped with IP65 dust and splash resistance which adds confidence in daily use.
Hardware and Internal Software
At the beginning of use, I faced several issues. Among them, the device could not connect to the 2.4GHz WiFi network even though the connection to 5GHz did not cause any problems. This situation is quite strange because throughout my previous reviews, this kind of thing had never happened. In addition, the device was also unable to run the Antutu application at the beginning of use.
The screen also frequently goes blank, requiring me to turn it off and then back on. This problem often occurs when I use the device for a long time. This situation indirectly causes discomfort, especially when I am interrupted while taking pictures for camera tests. However, all these issues were resolved after I downloaded the latest update. After the update was installed, the device functions normally without experiencing the problems mentioned earlier.

Therefore, I continued using this device and found it to work well without any major issues. The process of typing messages felt smooth without any lag time, while scrolling was more responsive thanks to the screen support with a high refresh rate. In addition, the process of downloading applications did not take long. Switching between applications can also be done smoothly without causing system crashes or the device turning off itself. The overall experience after the update provides a more reassuring feeling in using the device for daily tasks.
This device also runs XOS 16 based on Android 16 with some major improvements. It also comes with a Glow-space design and smoother transition animations through the “Liquid Motion Animations” concept. Among the aspects that are given attention is the ability to personalize the device with new application icons, custom themes, wallpapers and unique effects on the lock screen and home screen. In addition, there is also an AI-based theme generator that can generate themes from text or images to ensure a more user-friendly user experience.
The main focus of XOS 16 is deeper AI integration. It comes with Folax assistant, AI Notes, AI Recording Summary and Flash Memo that can capture screen content, create summaries, and add tags for more organized management. There is also an AI Call Assistant function that offers real-time translation, call summaries and automatic answering functions for important calls. XOS 16 also provides tools to translate text, scan documents, assist with writing and solve complex questions.
Not only that, XOS 16 improves the camera and multimedia functions. It includes the AI Eraser feature that allows users to easily remove unwanted elements from images, as well as the Image Extension function that can expand the image display according to the user's wishes. For starters, it offers performance modes such as Performance, Balanced, and Power Saving, in addition to features that make animations smoother by adding extra frames to the display. A bypass charging function is also provided to ensure more stable gaming sessions without affecting the battery.
Camera and Image Quality
Infinix Note Edge comes with a simple but practical camera system. The main camera uses a 50 MP sensor with PDAF support for fast focusing. Video recording also supports resolutions up to 1440p@30fps and 1080p@30fps. For the selfie camera, this device uses a single 13 MP sensor with an f/2.2 (wide) aperture. Just like the main camera, it also supports video recording at resolutions of 1440p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.
The camera performance on the Infinix Note Edge can be said to be inconsistent. Sometimes the image results look ordinary while other times the quality is disappointingly low. Most photos look overly sharp but the colors tend to be dull. Additionally, there is an issue with focal length when the display shows an ultra-wide option of 0.6x while the camera is actually at 1x focal length. The best results can only be achieved at 2x focal length but when going beyond that the quality drops significantly.
For night shots, the camera performance on the Infinix Note Edge seems less than satisfactory especially in terms of inconsistent white balance. Portrait mode also only provides average quality as skin tones appear dull. Bokeh effects can be produced using a 35mm or 50mm focal length but the quality is average and can be lost if the body slimming mode (Curve Body) is used. Additionally, the separation between the subject and the background is not neat making the portrait results not very attractive.
Super Night Mode on the Infinix Note Edge tries to improve the overall lighting of the image, but the results are not very suitable when the conditions are already sufficiently lit. The white balance problem is still noticeable, making night images look less natural. In terms of video recording, the stabilization offered is able to work well but is only limited to 1080p resolution at 30fps. If you use 2K resolution at 30fps, the colors look more interesting and the results are sharper, but this option is not accompanied by the same good stabilization.
In terms of the experience of using the camera application on the Infinix Note Edge, it feels less smooth because the camera application occasionally experiences a time lag. There are situations where this device is difficult to reopen after being closed without first exiting the camera application and the same issue can occur in other applications, affecting the smoothness of use. This problem, however, occurred before the update that I mentioned in the software section. After the update, performance became better although the time lag still occurs in some certain situations.
Sky Shop Mode
Sky Shop Mode
Sky Shop Mode
In terms of the position of the camera button on the side, which is slightly lower, making its use a little awkward. However, there is an additional mode called Sky Shop. This mode tries to give an interesting effect to images with a sky or cloud background, but in some cases it has difficulty detecting objects or buildings accurately, causing the results to be inconsistent.
Battery and Fast Charging
In terms of battery, the 6,500 mAh capacity is indeed large and is combined with 45W fast charging. However, real-world experience shows significant variation. Sometimes it can reach up to 9 hours of SOT while in other situations it is only around 5 to 6 hours depending on the level of use.
For example, I managed to record 6 hours 1 minute with 7% remaining during heavy use, 9 hours with 6% remaining during frequent use, 5 hours 17 minutes with 19% remaining battery in minimal use and 5 hours 35 minutes with 18% remaining in moderate use.
This shows that battery life does not just depend on the large capacity offered but is influenced by usage patterns and the level of software optimization. In other words, battery life is more realistic because it really depends on how the device is used and not just a number on paper.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the Infinix Note Edge is a mid-range device that offers an attractive package with several key advantages. It stands out through its modern design that is comfortable to hold, a bright screen even under sunlight, a stereo audio system tuned by JBL and AI support in the XOS 16 interface. However, the camera performance and battery life are still inconsistent although it depends on the daily usage pattern. In short, it is suitable for users who want a mid-range phone with an attractive design, adequate audio and various AI features but have to accept compromises on the camera and battery life.
