Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, today announced that they have raised $110 billion in funding from three parties, namely Amazon, NVIDIA and SoftBank. According to reports, Amazon is investing $50 Billion, while NVIDIA and SoftBank are each investing $30 Billion.
With this investment, OpenAI is now valued at around $730 billion. Previously, last October when it raised funding from investors, OpenAI was valued at around $500 billion.
Along with this, OpenAI and Amazon announced a strategic partnership, where a specific model will be developed to power various Amazon applications for public users. In addition, the partnership with AWS will also be expanded in the coming years, as well as becoming the main third-party platform offering OpenAI Frontier.
In sharing about this investment, Sam Altman also emphasized that they will maintain their collaboration with Microsoft as before, including offering several APIs exclusively with Microsoft.
