Samsung Is Testing Silicon Carbon Batteries For Upcoming Devices

After the Galaxy S26 series was launched yesterday, many complained that there was no change in battery capacity for four consecutive years while Chinese manufacturers were rushing to offer 10,000 mAh batteries as standard. This is because Samsung SDI has not yet offered batteries with high-capacity silicon carbon (SiC) technology.

According to a report by Android Headlines, an interviewed Samsung representative confirmed that the South Korean chaebol has started testing their own SiC battery technology. It may arrive in the Galaxy S series next year. There is no confirmation when it will be done but at least it is a good sign that Samsung is finally ready to follow the steps of Chinese manufacturers.

Samsung is very careful about the use and source of their batteries after the Galaxy Note 7 explosion incident in 2016. It caused huge losses because all devices had to be withdrawn from the market and damaged the company's reputation. So the action of seeing Chinese manufacturers using SiC technology is because they don't want to have two fruits.
