The YouTube Premium Lite subscription plan has been updated and subscribers can finally download videos and play videos in the background. These two features were previously only accessible to YouTube Premium subscribers.
In addition, YouTube Premium Lite subscribers can also still watch videos on the site without ads. Features that are still exclusive to YouTube Premium subscribers are playing music and music videos without ads as well as more video control features such as skipping ahead and resuming videos at the end of the point they were watching.
The feature will be rolled out to all global users in stages over the next few weeks. In Malaysia, the YouTube Premium Lite plan is not yet available with the regular YouTube Premium plan starting at RM12.90 for students.
