China Blocks Meta's Acquisition of Manus

China is now blocking Meta's acquisition of artificial intelligence company Manus. This move is because Manus is not complying with Chinese laws. Authorities say China has notified relevant parties to withdraw any transaction involving the acquisition.

Previously, Meta had announced the acquisition of Manus, at a value of up to $2 billion. At that time, Manus was said to be a Singapore company. Manus was founded in China, and subsequently moved operations to Singapore. It stole the attention of many by offering AI agents that can easily perform a number of complex tasks, especially involving analysis and research.

Meta had previously started offering updates to the Manus application with their branding. It is not known what form the changes will take after this.

Previously, China itself was ready to make regulations involving exports for artificial intelligence and any algorithms. In addition to China, the United States has also blocked any investment and support for AI companies that have ties to China.

With this development, let's all wait and see what Meta will do for this acquisition of Manus.
