During the Google 2026 APAC Online Safety Dialogue, they also announced that the Be Scam Ready game will soon be offered in Bahasa Malaysia and is expected to be launched around the third quarter of this year.
A total of $5 million (~RM20 million) has been allocated for the purpose of empowering anti-digital and financial fraud in ASEAN countries by Google.org so that more citizens of these countries are more aware of the issue by exposing them to digital fraud scenarios in a safe way.
This initiative is part of a collaboration between Google.org and the ASEAN Foundation, but for the Malaysian market, both parties are also working with local social change impact agency, Ratio:Cause which it is hoped will raise awareness of more than 200 thousand Malaysians about the dangers of digital and financial fraud over the next two years.
Through a “train-the-trainer” model, this initiative empowers community leaders to build a network of experts and deliver local training and awareness programs for Malaysians, especially the youth and seniors. This effort is further strengthened by the use of interactive tools such as the “Be Scam Ready” game, which builds digital resilience for all.
