Among the many consoles of the 90s, the Neo Geo was the most premium console that many people could not afford to buy. It offered true arcade-level graphics at home. More than 30 years ago, the only way to enjoy Neo Geo was to rent it from a game store at a high price of RM15 per hour while other consoles like the SNES and MegaDrive were only RM5 per hour
Today the Neo Geo AES+ was announced in conjunction with the 35th anniversary of the original Neo Geo. It was released by Released by Plaion, with a design almost identical to the original model. Almost the same because it comes with several features needed by modern consoles.
It has HDMI connectivity up to 1080p, still has AV output for connection to a CRT, overclock mode and the BIOS can be changed for different language and country options. Why is this included? Because the Neo Geo AES+ can support the original Neo Geo cartridges.
It also comes with wired and wireless controllers. The regular version is offered in black but a limited white version is also available for those who want something different and 10 classic Neo Geo games are included as listed below. The Neo Geo AES+ will be available starting November 12, 2026 at €199.99 (RM 932) and the limited edition is priced at €899 (~RM 4091).
