Valve Changes Details of 4K60 Support for Steam Machine on Website

The Steam Machine went on sale this week, and a slew of reviews for Valve's latest gaming console have been saying that the console is overpriced, and some of the gaming claims are just wishful thinking.

One of them is the Steam Machine's ability to play games at 4K60FPS resolution and refresh rate. This has been touted on the Steam Machine website for a while, but when tested, it was found that many modern games were difficult to play at those settings.

In fact, for games that can be run at those resolutions, graphics settings and Ray-Tracing lighting processing features are difficult to use on the console.

Because of this, Valve has changed the 4K60 claim to a label that says the Steam Machine can play games at 4K resolution with the help of FSR 4.1 to make the performance claims more transparent.

Even with a starting price of $1050, the Steam Machine is still seen as a gaming console that many people want, especially by those who want to take advantage of the game list on their Steam platform in their living room.
