The X app for Android has been updated after a year of testing by Premium users. The new version is completely built from the ground up to allow Android users to enjoy various features that were previously only accessible on the iOS app.
Among the introduced features are image editing that allows for sketches, more beautiful text, and certain elements of images to be blurred directly from the device. Images can now be scrolled horizontally when more than one is uploaded in a Thread-like tweet. In addition, Cashtags and Custom Timelines are also now available on Android.
According to X's head of product, Nikita Bier, several other features such as React with Video, Video Editor, and Spaces are currently in development for use in the Android app.
While the app is said to be better, we noticed that it doesn't display properly on foldable devices, the bottom tray automatically disappears, and the image selection tray for uploading is not as good as the previous version.
