Google Calendar Lets Users Block Spam Invitations

Google announced a new feature in Google Calendar that allows users to block individuals who send spam or unwanted invitations. All invitations and events from blocked senders will be deleted immediately and users will no longer receive new invitations from them.

The feature aims to block irrelevant event invitations while giving users more control over ensuring their schedules are filled with only important events. Blocked individuals will be added to the Google account block list that also applies to other products like Gmail. If someone is already blocked in Gmail, Calendar invitations from them will also be automatically blocked.

According to Google, this feature will be gradually rolled out to Google Workspace and Workspace Individual customers over the course of two weeks. However, it is not available for free Google accounts. This move is seen as an effort to address the increasing problem of spam invitations including malicious links.
