Playing Social Media Must Know Ethics!

Just like in the real world, meeting rude people on social media is really annoying. Therefore, etiquette in the real world also applies on social media.
Not meeting in person can be unrecognizable on social media, it shouldn't make netizens behave arbitrarily.

Online and offline are the same (ethics). Sometimes anonymous account users may lose the sense that they are representing themselves. They don't feel like they represent themselves when using social media, let alone anonymous accounts.

He stated, there are many reasons netizens behave negatively on social media. For example, spreading hoaxes because they want to show their position above others, both in terms of intelligence, wealth, education, and others.

There are also those who are motivated to get attention by creating unethical content and broadcasting it on social media, or feel they are more or feel the most, I also often see this on social media, which results in bullying, hatred, bigotry, doxing and behavior another negative

Of course we are given the freedom to be able to communicate with anyone. However, free does not mean without ethics. It would be nice if we knew what ethics to consider when using social media.

Ethics is very important and applies universally throughout the world. Small things, for example, closing the camera when the teacher gives lessons online are not good ethics, in international webinars which also applies, such as the use of personal e-mails for various matters, using emojis in mourning, and so on.

Ethics in general has actually been explained in the rules for using social media (terms of use) when we create an account. But most people don't read it and just click "Agree" (agree).

What is done and not done on social media can increase along with the development of ethics in social media. However, at least, the following four things should be a guide:

1. Communication Ethics

It would be nice if we communicate online using polite language with anyone when we interact.

Avoid spreading hoaxes and other negative content

Get in the habit of spreading useful things and not causing conflict between people. Also avoid uploading images of violence such as photos of victims of violence, photos of traffic accidents or photos of violence in other forms.

2. Respect the work of others

When distributing content in the form of photos, writings or videos belonging to others, make it a habit to include sources of information as a form of appreciation for someone's work. Don't just copy and paste without including the source of the notice.

3. Always check again

We always find news that slanders parties on social media, or information that is not clear about the truth. Therefore, social media users are asked to be wiser when capturing information. Always double-check whether the news or information is legal or not.

4. Don't spread personal information

There is no need to issue a personal statement, especially if the information tends to be misused, such as telephone numbers, home addresses, showing passports, and so on.

So dear netizens, use social media as well as possible and wisely. Always think before you act. This also applies to any post on social media. Think before you send!
