How to Store WhatsApp Data for Phone and Video Calls

WhatsApp users can communicate with each other using many ways, from chat, phone to video calls. But talking on the phone and video calling on WhatsApp will definitely drain the data quota from regular chatting.
WhatsApp needs internet to be able to make voice and video calls. When making voice calls, WhatsApp uses around 740 Kb of data per minute.

The data used when making a video call is of course larger. This makes it difficult for users with limited internet quota to chat with family or friends.

Don’t panic, you can still make calls and make video calls on WhatsApp even if your internet quota is almost exhausted. Here’s how to store data on WhatsApp during phone and video calls, as quoted from India Today, Thursday (15/7/2021).

Open the WhatsApp app on your Android or iOS phone then click the three vertical dots in the top right corner

Select the Settings or Settings option from the drop -down menu

Then select the 'Storage and Data' option

Finally, tap the 'Use less data for calls' toggle at the bottom of the Network Usage option. When this toggle is pressed, voice and video calls made will use less data.

This function allows WhatsApp to use the minimum data needed to make voice and video calls, so there is a possibility that its quality will be affected.

Please note, before activating this feature, make sure WhatsApp on your phone is the latest version, namely version 2.21.13.28 for Android, and version 2.21.131 for iOS.

In addition to saving data when making calls and video calls, you can also save data when sending multimedia content such as photos and videos. The trick is to turn off the automatic download feature in WhatsApp.

This function not only makes the storage memory in your phone full, but also allows data to flow. Moreover, WhatsApp will soon launch a feature that allows users to send high-quality photos and videos, so that the size of the content received will be larger.

To turn off the automatic download option, first go to the Settings menu and then select Storage and Data. Then tap the 'While using mobile data' option and uncheck all options (photos, audio, video, and documents) then tap OK.
