IPhone Sales Soar 50% Ahead of iPhone 13 Launch

Apple is once again enjoying a satisfactory period in the third quarter of 2021. They recorded revenue of USD 81.4 billion, almost half of which was contributed by iPhone sales.
In its financial report for Q3 2021, Apple said iPhone sales in the last three months totaled $ 39.6 billion. This figure shows a 50% increase over the same period last year.

This increase is somewhat surprising given that iPhone sales typically start to weaken in the summer as consumers prefer to wait for a new iPhone to launch in the fall. Apple itself is rumored to announce the iPhone 13 in September, at the latest the launch of the iPhone 12.

Total revenue of 81.4 billion USD shows an increase of 36% over last year. Of that total revenue, Apple posted a profit of USD 21.7 billion, nearly double from the same period last year.

“During this quarter, our team built an unparalleled period of innovation by sharing new products with our users, while using technology to connect with people on the go is very important,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. Wednesday (28/7/2021).

Apple’s other businesses also recorded satisfactory performance. IPad sales increased 12% to a total of USD 7.4 billion, while March recorded sales of USD 8.23 billion, up 16% over the same period in 2020.

Appliances, smart homes and accessories also increased by 36% and recorded sales of USD 8.8 billion. Apple’s services business such as Apple TV +, iCloud, Arcade and others earned USD 17.5 billion, up nearly 33%.

While his business continues to grow amid the epidemic and the chip crisis, Cook expects Apple’s business to decline slightly in the next quarter. But he did not give an estimate of how these factors will affect Apple's sales in the next quarter.

"In terms of supply constraints and how long this will last. I don't want to predict it now," Cook said in a call with analysts.

"We're going to pick it up every quarter and, as you'd expect, we're going to do what we can to deal with whatever situation we face." B
