Telegram seems to be looking for new ways to bring in money. This application made by Pavel Durov is developing Premium services to provide users with exclusive features.
Like other Premium services, users have to pay a subscription fee to access the premium features offered. In this case, the features that Telegram Premium subscribers can access are new emoji stickers and reactions.
The existence of Telegram Premium was discovered by a beta tester in the Telegram beta app for iOS version 8.7.2. Currently, users who can access the TestFlight Telegram build and its Test Server can already try to subscribe to Telegram Premium.
So far, the features that Telegram Premium has to offer are just exclusive stickers and emoji reactions. Users who select these stickers and emojis will get a notification asking them to subscribe to the Telegram Premium service.
So exclusive, if a user sends a sticker or emoji reaction that Telegram Premium offers to other users who are not subscribed, the sticker or reaction will not appear in the chat and the recipient of the message will also be asked to subscribe to view it, as quoted from The Verge, Wednesday (4 / 4) 5/2022).
It is not yet known how much Telegram charges for this Premium service. As well as information about its launch schedule and what other exclusive features it will offer.
But paid features like this have actually been predicted for a long time. By the end of 2022, Pavel Durov said that in order to remain operational and become an independent company, Telegram would start monetizing its platform.
Durov announced Telegram will show ads on public channels with more than 1,000 subscribers and add premium features for businesses. But Durov stressed Telegram will still be free to use by all users, including all features for messaging.
