Intel Arc GPU Showcases in the Intel Extreme Master Esports Tournament

It's been almost a year since Intel unveiled its line of discrete graphics cards called Arc, but this is the first time this form of graphics card has been showcased to the public.

Intel Arc was exhibited at the Intel Extreme Master (IEM) game tournament which was held in Texas, United States. At the end of this event, you can get a close look at the special edition Arc Alchemist GPU.

The Arc on display is from the Alchemist 700 line, but Intel did not reveal whether the GPU is the A770 series or the A780, which is the flagship GPU of Nvidia's RTX 3070 and 3080 competitors.

From the Twitter post of Bryce_GfxDriverGuru, one of the Arc Community Advocates, via his Twitter account. The graphics card on display has 32 Intel Xe cores, 16GB DDR6 VRAM, and five outputs consisting of four DisplayPorts and an HDMI. However, prices and availability have not been revealed.

So far, the journey of Intel's GPU is not exactly smooth. In 2021 they announced that the launch of the PC desktop graphics card would be delayed until 2022. But in May 2022, the delay was extended.

The postponement of Arc's presence was due to the factory being affected by the lockdown as well as various software problems, which were the main problems of Arc. This delay has prevented Intel from being able to 'disturb' the two big players in the realm of PC GPUs, namely Nvidia and AMD.

In addition, the availability of PC GPUs, which were previously scarce and their prices soaring, have improved relatively well. Then Nvidia and AMD have started to build momentum for the release of the next generation of GPUs.

That means, Intel has a heavy burden to disrupt the dominance of the two giants in the realm of graphics cards, both from the green and red camps, as quoted by us from Techspot, Tuesday (7/6/2022).
