The price of RAM and storage of devices this year will increase sharply. The Galaxy S26 series launched this morning is RM200 more expensive than the Galaxy S25 series due to high demand for RAM. In a situation where demand is higher than supply, there are companies willing to do anything to ensure that the supply of RAM is not interrupted.
According to a report by Korean media DealSite, Apple is said to be giving Samsung-made LPDDR5X RAM despite the price increase of 100%. Apple executives who met with Samsung representatives immediately agreed to the requested price without bargaining first. Samsung executives were surprised because they only wanted to increase the price by 60% and put the 100% increase to start the final price discussion.
This is profitable for Samsung because they and a few other companies are the only manufacturers of LPDDR5X RAM in the world. So it is not surprising that the revenue of Samsung Device Solutions, which produces RAM, increased by 565% in Q4 2025 compared to the same quarter last year.
