Stripe Reportedly Intends to Buy PayPal

Stripe, a financial services company that makes it easy for developers to integrate payment capabilities into their apps and websites, is now said to be in the early stages of seeking to acquire PayPal. It is said that Stripe is interested in acquiring part or all of PayPal Holdings.

If true, it would make Stripe the world's largest finance-focused platform by integrating PayPal services and a number of services under PayPal. PayPal is valued at around $40 billion today.

PayPal is said to be facing challenges in the financial arena, not to mention the presence of offerings such as payment integration with devices via Apple Pay and Google Pay, in addition to BNPL services and other online payment service offerings. In fact, with the modernity of the financial arena and cross-border payment facilities, it has made fewer and fewer users rely on PayPal lately.

For now, it is said that the discussions are still in the early stages, and there is a possibility that no purchase transaction will occur.
